STP Tutoring Overview
Successful completion of the six-week Summer Transitional Program (STP) is a requirement for every student entering the University through the Student Support Services/Intensive Educational Development (SSS/IED) Programs. STP helps students prepare for college life and takes place the summer prior to the Fall semester they are admitted.

AAP Tutoring Overview
Academic Achievement Programs (AAP) assists predominantly first-generation and Pell-grant eligible freshmen in matriculating to the university by providing mandatory academic advising, college study skills courses, English and math supplemental instruction, and academic peer tutoring for a set list of general education courses each semester at UMD.

ASTS Tutoring Overview
The Academic Success and Tutorial Services (ASTS), an initiative of Academic Achievement Programs (AAP), provides appointment-based peer tutoring for over thirty "at-risk courses"—those with historically high D/W/F rates—in the areas of accounting, biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, and statistics.
